Colts Neck and Manalapan High Schools were new additions to the 2014 list.Michael Wilson Freehold Borough Mayor Michael Wilson and rock superstar Bruce Springsteen have a lot more in common now than just being boyhood pals in the borough – they are now both members of the Freehold High School Hall of Fame. Marlboro High School saw significant advancement moving to 46 this year from 343 in 2013, while Freehold Township High School jumped to 467 from 1,162 in 2013. The second part, ranking analysis, used a College Readiness Score created based on six indicators: Enrollment Rate (25 percent) Graduation Rate (20 percent) Weighted AP/IB composite (17.5 percent) Weighted SAT/ACT composite (17.5 percent) Holding Power, the change in student enrollment between ninth and 12th grades intended to control for student attrition (10 percent) and Counselor-to-Student Ratio (10 percent).įRHSD is not a newcomer to Newsweek’s list having made the 2013 top schools lineup. The first part, threshold analysis, was based on performance indicators (i.e., proficiency rates on state standardized assessments). Newsweek teamed up with research partner Westat to develop the methodology for compiling 2014’s list. Colts Neck High School ranked 166, Freehold Township High School ranked 467 and Manalapan High School ranked 469. ![]() Marlboro High School was ranked at 46 in the nation by Newsweek. Four high schools in the Freehold Regional High School District (FRHSD) made Newsweek’s 2014 list of America’s top high schools with Marlboro High School placing in the top 50.
